Merck & Co. is seeking a skilled Pipefitter in Rahway, NJ area to fabricate and repair piping systems and related equipment. The role involves working with steam, water, glycol, chilled water, clean utilities and various distribution systems while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Expect to lay out, install, alter and test piping, gauges, valves and related components per drawings and verbal instructions. Strong attention to safety, teamwork and adherence to codes is required.
Under general supervision and with engineering support, the Pipefitter will perform journey-level work in the fabrication and repair of piping systems and components. Demonstrate ability to install, repair, alter and troubleshoot piping systems along with the equipment to which it is connected. Demonstrate ownership of equipment systems serviced and pride in quality work. Systems include steam and condensate generation/distribution, water/glycol distribution, chilled water generation/distribution, clean utilities generation/distribution, compressed gas generation and distribution, vacuum systems, HVAC and piping/coils, wastewater collection and disposal, chemical waste collection and disposal, laboratory scale equipment and tubing, and others.
Day shift (7 am -3:45 pm) or 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 11:45 pm), determined by position availability after polling
Compensation Range $39.59 to $49.21 per hour
