Job summary

Turner Industries in Pass Christian, MS is seeking a Pipefitter for a maintenance role. You will lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping systems for steam, hot water, heating, cooling and industrial processing.

Requires NCCER certification or equivalent experience, a high school diploma, and 1–4 years of piping experience. The job reports to the Foreman and includes site safety requirements and PPE; per diem is not provided.

Qualifications

• Must have NCCER certification or proven experience.

• 1–4 years of experience in pipefitting or related trades.
• Site safety requirements as dictated by the client (PPE, rules).

Responsibilities

• Selects pipe size and type per job specs.
• Inspects sites to avoid obstructions and ensure structural integrity.
• Plans installation sequence to coordinate with other workers.
• Cuts, threads and bends pipe.
• Assembles and installs metal/nonmetal pipe fittings (brass, copper, lead, glass, plastic).
• Joins pipes via threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused or cemented joints.
• Secures pipes to structures with clamps/brackets/hangers.
• Installs and maintains refrigeration and AC systems and piping; tests for leaks.

We are seeking a Pipefitter for a maintenance position in Pass Christian, MS. The Pipefitter position lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and maintains piping and piping systems, fixtures and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and industrial processing systems. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Essential Qualifications

• Must have experience or be NCCER certified
• High school or equivalent
• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Functional Requirements

• Selects size and type of pipe and related material according to job specifications
• Inspects work sites to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain that holes will not cause structural weakness
• Plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers
• Cuts, threads and bends pipe
• Assembles and installs a variety of metal and nonmetal pipe fittings, including those made of brass, copper, lead, glass and plastic
• Joins pipe by means of threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused or cemented joints
• Secures pipe to structure with clamps, brackets and hangers
• Installs and maintains refrigeration and air-conditioning systems including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls and piping
• Test piping system for leaks

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. No per diem.
