Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a dedicated Pipefitter to join the Plant Engineering team on-site at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. The role supports facility operations with daily hands-on piping tasks and preventive maintenance.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a base pay range of $23.07 to $31.50 per hour, depending on experience. A strong work ethic and accuracy are essential for keeping patient services uninterrupted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Five years of actual work experience or apprenticeship in the trade.
• Ability to read blueprints, plans, drawings and plumbing diagrams.
• Experience with pipe fitting tools and maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain water, air, vacuum, gas, hot water, distilled water, acid, and chemical distribution systems.
• Cut, thread, join pipe; operate trade tools; perform soldering and welding as needed.
• Inspect, test, and maintain water treatment equipment; ensure safety requirements are followed.
• Maintain tools and equipment; assist with cost estimates and material orders as required.
