Job summary

The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Pipefitter within Engineering Service. The Pipefitter will troubleshoot, install, modify, and repair high-pressure piping systems including steam heating, steam generation, and hydraulic systems.

Qualifications

• Able to read and interpret building plans and blueprints.
• Experience with high-pressure piping systems and related equipment (steam, hydraulic systems).
• Proficient in planning routing, elevations, and pipe layout according to drawings.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, install, modify, and repair high-pressure piping systems and equipment.
• Plan and lay out routing, placement, slope and elevation from blueprints.
• Install and commission systems, ensure leak-free joints and proper operation.
• Perform repairs in difficult-to-reach areas, including confined spaces and scaffolds.
• Follow safe practices while working with ladders, scaffolds, and elevated platforms.
