Job summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs' Margaret C. Corbin VA Campus in Manhattan, NY seeks a Pipefitter to maintain and repair utility systems and equipment in accordance with VA regulations and National Codes.

This role involves working with high- to low-pressure steam piping and related plumbing fixtures across the facility. Responsibilities include installing and operating piping systems, aligning components, interpreting plans, and planning layouts for new and existing piping work.

Responsibilities

• Installing high- and low-pressure piping systems and related equipment.
• Installing plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets, drinking fountains) and hot water systems.
• Aligning pipes, valves, fittings and joints for a proper fit.
• Interpreting plans and using shop math to lay out angles.
• Planning layouts for new and existing piping and equipment.
• Using drills, grinders, threaders and cutters safely.
• Other duties as assigned.
