Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc. is hiring a Maintenance Technician Specialist - Pipe-fitter for our East Alton, IL facility. The role focuses on hydraulic/combustion repairs, quality repairs, and preventive maintenance across varied mechanical and fluids systems.

Starting pay is $44.67/hour with a rotating swing shift schedule. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in heavy industrial maintenance or a 4-year apprenticeship, with experience in hydraulic/pneumatic/combustion systems and welding

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years heavy industrial/maintenance experience or a four year apprenticeship certification required
• Experience with hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and combustion systems is required
• Experience with mounting and setting equipment (rigging experienced desired), repairing mechanical transmission equipment, repairing fluid power systems, general equipment breakdown maintenance, and heavy equipment experience is considered a plus
• Experience with fabricating of light gauge guarding and repair of metal products using Mig Welders, Tig Welders, Arc Welding, or Stick Welding is considered a plus
• Understanding of infrared, acoustics and other predictive maintenance practices is considered a plus
• Must be able to work swing shift and overtime as required

Responsibilities

• Work together with and/or leads the operating crew to minimize downtime and to maximize productivity
• Responsible for making the complicated decisions on how a hydraulic/combustion repair is to proceed and perform quality repairs the first time
• Responsible for leading the completion of more complicated and specialized fluids troubleshooting and repair tasks
• Work with the production team for constant improvement
• Perform administrative duties as assigned including completion of work order documentation and data entry into the computerized maintenance system
