Job summary

Austin Industries is seeking a Welder Leadman - Industrial to lead pipefitting and welding crews on major projects in Decatur, IL. You will read drawings, lay out systems, and install piping per specifications, using welding and brazing as required.

You will supervise 1–5 helpers, enforce safety and quality standards, and coordinate with project teams to ensure milestones are met. Strong technical and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Experience leading pipefitting or welding crews preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings isometric drawings, blueprints and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets isometric drawings, blueprints and specifications.
• Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and supports.
• Supervises 1–5 pipe fitter helpers in the Operations Department.
• Ensures safety, quality, and on-time project delivery.
• Maintains tools and equipment and conducts inspections and testing.
