Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Pipefitter to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment for industrial production.

Responsibilities include joining pipes, installing supports, and maintaining automatic controls, with 3-5 years Journeyman experience preferred. This position requires legal work authorization in the United States and offers equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Education – no minimum education requirements.
• Experience – 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.

Responsibilities

• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using saws, torches, pipe threaders and benders.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Select pipe sizes and related materials according to specifications.
• Modify, clean and maintain pipe systems, units and fittings following specifications.
• Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.
• Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections.
• Remove and replace worn components.
• Inspect work sites for obstructions and structural integrity.
• Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded areas.
• Dip nonferrous piping materials in molten tin and lead coating to prevent erosion.
• Other duties as assigned.
