Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a skilled pipefitter/journeyman to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment for industrial production and processing facilities. Responsibilities include cutting, threading, mounting pipes, and ensuring safe, efficient operation.

Qualified candidates have 3–5 years journeyman experience, TWIC and a valid driver's license, and must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Journeyman level experience.
• TWIC and Driver's License (DL) required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in industrial environments.
• Must follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States. Austin Industrial is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.

Responsibilities

• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using saws, torches, pipe threaders and benders.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Select pipe sizes and related materials according to specifications.
• Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and equipment per specifications.
• Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.
• Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections.
• Remove and replace worn components.
• Inspect work sites for obstructions and structural integrity.
• Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded areas.
• Dip nonferrous piping materials in molten tin/lead coating.
• Other duties as assigned.
