Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking a Pipefitter III to build and modify test stands for Terran R at our Stennis, Mississippi site. You will contribute to the Stennis Test team, working hands-on with large-scale systems and collaborating with technicians, operators, and engineers to push hardware toward flight readiness.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years as a pipefitter, ability to read blueprints, welding experience (TIG/MIG), and a readiness for night shifts or travel.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a Pipefitter.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted and stand for extended periods with PPE.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience with TIG/MIG welding equipment.
  • Occasional night shifts and travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine pipe layouts.
  • Fabricate and install piping systems including cutting, threading, and welding pipes.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain fluid piping hardware.
  • Follow procedures, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Maintain inventory of consumables, tooling, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute projects.

About the Team:

The Stennis Test team designs, builds, and operates Relativity’s propulsion and stage test stands. Team members are hands-on with large-scale, complex systems including fully integrated engines and stage assemblies, pushing hardware to the limits and directly contributing to flight readiness. The work is fast-paced and highly operational, ideal for those with backgrounds in aviation, automotive, manufacturing, offshore operations, industrial systems, construction, or adjacent industries. You’ll work in a close-knit, dynamic environment where collaboration between technicians, operators, and engineers is not only encouraged, but expected. As the company scales, the Stennis Test team becomes even more critical to unlocking our next phase of growth: proving out full-stage systems and paving the way for routine, reliable flights of Terran R.

About the Role:

As a Pipefitter III, you will perform functions in building of new test stand facilities and modifying existing test stands to support site testing milestones.

Responsibilities:
  • Readsandinterpretsblueprints and specifications todeterminepipe layouts, materials, and installation procedures
  • Fabricates andinstallspipingsystemsto includecutting,threading,andweldingpipes to construct systems for transporting liquids, gases, orcryogenicfluids
  • Troubleshootingand maintenance of fluid system piping and hardware
  • Proactively perform work according to procedures, specifications, and work instructions
  • Monitor andmaintainan inventory of consumables, tooling, and equipment
  • Collaborateclosely withcrossfunctionalteamsto execute various projects
About You:
  • 4+ years of experience working as aPipefitter
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbsunassisted, stand for extended periods,anduse industrystandardPPE
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical documents, and/or engineering drawings
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment (TIG, MIG, etc.)
  • Experience and ability to performpartlayout and fit-up
  • This position will require occasional night shifts andpossible travel
Nice to haves but not required:
  • Advanced knowledge of fluid systems and their components
  • Advanced knowledge engineering ISO prints
  • Advanced knowledgeandabilityusingwelding systems and their components

Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at our government partner location in Stennis, Mississippi.

Hiring Range:

$33.20 — $49.80 USD
