Job summary

Relativity Space in Mississippi is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join the Stennis Test team. You will execute daily facility tasks (HVAC, lighting, plumbing), support logistics, and help keep machinery and infrastructure running at peak readiness.

You’ll collaborate with contractors, document work in Jira, and adhere to EHS guidelines with the flexibility for non-standard shifts and outdoor conditions as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance, construction, or repair roles.
  • Proficiency with building systems and mechanical equipment.
  • Familiarity with CMMS or digital ticketing tools is a plus.

  • Execute daily maintenance tasks on facility systems (HVAC, lighting, plumbing, etc.).
  • Support logistics and inventory (shipping/receiving, tool tracking, materials handling).
  • Troubleshoot issues across site infrastructure and coordinate timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with contractors and technicians on small projects and infrastructure improvements.
  • Complete and document work through Jira or other ticketing systems.
  • Ensure work is performed safely and aligned with EHS protocols.

About the Team:

The Stennis Test team designs, builds, and operates Relativity’s propulsion and stage test stands. Team members are hands-on with large-scale, complex systems including fully integrated engines and stage assemblies, pushing hardware to the limits and directly contributing to flight readiness. The work is fast-paced and highly operational, ideal for those with backgrounds in aviation, automotive, manufacturing, offshore operations, industrial systems, construction, or adjacent industries. You’ll work in a close-knit, dynamic environment where collaboration between technicians, operators, and engineers is not only encouraged, but expected. As the company scales, the Stennis Test team becomes even more critical to unlocking our next phase of growth: proving out full-stage systems and paving the way for routine, reliable flights of Terran R.

About the Role:
  • Execute daily maintenance tasks on facility systems (HVAC, lighting, plumbing, etc.).

  • Troubleshoot issues across site infrastructure and coordinate timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with contractors and technicians on small projects and infrastructure improvements.
  • Complete and document work through Jira or other ticketing systems.
  • Ensure work is performed safely and aligned with EHS protocols.
About You:
  • Reliable transportation or the ability to report to the worksite for assigned shifts.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including moving and handling materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work at heights and on ladders, as well as perform tasks that may require squatting, stooping, and kneeling, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work non-standard shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, which may include lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work periodically or frequently in outdoor environments, including exposure to heat, cold, wind, and rain, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice to haves but not required:
  • 3-5 years of experience in maintenance, construction, and/or repair.
  • Experience as a Building Automation and HVAC Technician, Interior Finisher, Pump & Plumbing Systems Technician, or in electrical troubleshooting beyond basic outlet/lighting work (e.g., low-voltage systems, motor control).
  • Experience using CMMS or digital ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, Fiix, Maximo).

Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at our government partner location in Stennis, Mississippi.

Hiring Range:

$22—$33 USD
