Epsilon Systems is seeking a full-time Pipefitter II in Portsmouth, VA.

Position Summary

Reads and interprets blueprints and sketches to repair, modify, install, and dismantle various pipes and fittings associated with shipboard hydraulic, pneumatic, and water systems. Performs fabrication, assembly, and testing of piping systems and components. Requires little to no supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Reports to the Production Manager or project Foreman, following safety regulations and maintaining good housekeeping practices.
  • Ensures availability and proper use of tools and PPE.
  • Follows detailed repair procedures and coordinates with other trades during operations.
  • Performs troubleshooting, alignment, installation, repair, and testing of piping systems and components.
  • Prepares and installs system alterations, fabricates fixtures, and performs flushing and pressure testing.
Requirements
  • High School/GED with Apprenticeship Diploma or vocational training and experience with marine piping systems.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary access and qualifications.
  • Intermediate knowledge of shipboard piping systems, blueprint reading, and tool operation.
  • Effective communication skills, basic math skills, and ability to work independently or in a team.
Preferences
  • Current SECRET security clearance or ability to obtain one.

  • Requires walking, reaching, sitting, and concentration amid noise; ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.; manual dexterity; color perception; PPE usage.
