Job summary

Matrix Service, Inc. is seeking a Pipefitter Helper to assist in laying out, installing, maintaining and repairing piping systems for maintenance, tank, and new construction projects. You will interpret drawings, plan procedures, and select materials per engineering standards.

Minimum of four years in refinery maintenance or construction is required. A NCCER certification and Matrix Service safety trainings are preferred; drug testing and background checks are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience.
• General knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Must be able to pass Pipefitter Helper Skills Test (70%+) or complete the NCCER certification.
• Complete Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active status within the approved drug testing program.
• Must be able to pass a Background check.

Responsibilities

• Assists fitters/welder with layouts, installation, maintenance and repair of piping systems.
• Interprets drawings and sketches; plans details and selects materials.
• Lays out work, calculates dimensions and prepares pipe for joints.
• Sets up and operates bending, threading and cutoff equipment and uses tools or torch.
• Assembles and tests piping components and ensures safety compliance.
