Job summary

Matrix Service is seeking a Pipefitter Helper to support fitters and welders in laying out, installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems for maintenance, tank, and new construction projects.

The role requires reading drawings, selecting materials, and operating bending, threading, and cutting equipment. Candidates should have years of refinery/turnaround experience, pass safety trainings, and be authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Four or more years in refinery maintenance/turnaround/construction.
• General knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Must pass Pipefitter Helper Skills Test at or above 70% or NCCER certification.
• Complete Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active status within the approved drug testing program.
• Must be able to pass a Background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist Fitters/Welder with lays out, installs, maintains and repairs piping systems.
• Interpret drawings and sketches; plan work and select materials per engineering standards.
• Set up and operate bending, threading and cutting equipment; use hand tools or torch to shape piping.
• Assemble and test piping components; prepare joints for welding or special connections.
• Identify safety hazards and take corrective action to minimize risks.
• Report work performed and coordinate with supervision.
