The jobsite located in La Porte, TX has an opening for a Pipefitter Helper.

What You Will Do

Core responsibilities include:

  • Assisting pipefitters with setting, assembling, and installing pipe.
  • Knowledge of pipe fittings, bolts, valves, etc.
  • Preparing pipe and fittings for hoisting and rigging.
  • Familiarity with different types of metals.
  • Locating and marking bending and cutting lines.
  • Cleaning work area and restocking supplies.
  • Operating tools such as beveling machines, grinders, hammers, torches, drills, welding machines, and saws.
  • Working safely and accurately.

Physical Demands
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and high elevations.
  • Lifting/carrying objects up to 60 lbs.
  • Standing for up to 11 hours with breaks.
  • Use of arms, legs, climbing, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending.
  • Work on elevated platforms with safety harnesses.
  • Handle and control tools and objects.
Basic Qualifications
  • 6 months experience in an industrial environment.
  • Exposure to metals and knowledge of pipe fittings, bolts, valves, etc.
Other Requirements
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours and shifts.
  • Ability to meet physical demands.
  • Attend safety meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Over 6 months experience as a pipefitter helper.
  • Ability to read ISO's and drawings.
  • Experience in gas plant construction.
