Position Summary

Responsible for executing helper duties to assist the assigned crew.

Primary Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: location, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts of structural metal products.
• Set up face blocks, jigs, and fixtures.
• Locate and mark centerlines and reference points onto the floor or face block and transpose them to the work piece, using tape, chains, plumb bob, and squares.
• Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps of bolt parts in positions for welding or riveting.

Qualifications

• Entry Level
• Industrial construction/maintenance industry experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions.
