Job summary

Saulsbury is seeking a Pipefitter Apprentice in Abernathy, TX to support installation, maintenance, and repair of steam piping and associated equipment. The role involves reading plans, fabricating and assembling piping systems, and assisting with safety and lockout procedures.

6-48 months of experience in layout, installation, and maintenance tasks.
Possess a valid drivers’ license with a good driving record.
Have related tools.

Responsibilities

Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems, applying knowledge of system operation, and following blueprints.
Installs and repairs piping systems using flanged, screwed, bell and spigot, compression, and soldered joints.
Perform lockout and tag procedures to secure and deactivate equipment, and checks local point to ensure proper lockout procedures are used.
Inspects work site to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain that holes cut for pipe will not cause structural weakness.
Bends pipe, using pipe bending tools and pipe bending machine.
