Polk Mechanical is seeking a Pipefitter Apprentice - 1 to join our high-performing team. Responsibilities include:

1. Selecting the type and size of pipe and related materials according to specifications.
2. Inspecting worksites to identify obstructions and ensure structural integrity.
3. Planning installation sequences to avoid obstructions and coordinate with other construction activities.
4. Assembling and installing various metal and nonmetal pipes and fittings, including brass, copper, lead, glass, and plastic.
5. Joining piping using threaded, caulked, wiped, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
6. Securing pipes to structures with clamps, brackets, and hangers using hand tools.
7. Installing and maintaining refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, including compressors, pumps, meters, controls, and piping.
8. Testing piping systems for leaks by pressure testing and observing gauges.

Requirements:

• Experience with pipefitting in the Mechanical and HVAC industry.
• Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy.
• Familiarity with cutting, bending, and welding tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of systems being installed, with the ability to interpret plans and visualize objects in three dimensions.
• At least 1 year of practical training experience in related system installation and tool usage.
