This Pipefitter position is located in the Facility Maintenance Service Line at the Department of Veterans Affairs, VHA Connecticut, West Haven Campus, under the HVAC & Mechanical Pipe Shop Supervisor. The role involves modifying, maintaining, and repairing a variety of high, medium, and low-pressure piping systems.
The incumbent will:
40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm EST
Position Title/PD#: Pipefitter/PD00455A
Must stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, work in tiring positions, handle and lift parts up to 50 pounds, occasionally more.
Must demonstrate training or experience of sufficient scope and quality to perform the duties, supported by detailed resume descriptions. Rated according to OPM standards.
Screen-Out Element: Ability to perform the work of a Pipefitter without more than normal supervision, including equipment assembly, blueprint reading, measurement, troubleshooting, and use of tools.
