Job summary

United Group Services, Inc. is seeking a Pipe Fitter to install, assemble, and maintain mechanical piping systems in industrial, commercial, or construction environments.

Qualifications

  • Conduct pressure tests to ensure pipe systems are leak-free.
  • Work with carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, and copper.
  • Maintain and repair piping systems and components.
  • Collaborate with welders, plumbers, and other tradespeople on job sites.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and protocols.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide maintenance as needed.

Salary Interval: Hourly
Pay Range: $28.00 – $36.00

Position Description

A Pipe Fitter installs, assembles, fabricates, maintains, and repairs mechanical piping systems. They work with various piping materials including steel, copper, plastic, and other alloys, primarily in industrial, commercial, or construction environments. Pipe Fitters read blueprints and schematics, measure and cut pipes to required lengths, and ensure systems are installed to meet safety and building codes.

Position Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and specifications.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using tools such as saws, pipe cutters, and pipe-bending machines.
  • Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment.
  • Install supports, such as brackets and hangers, to secure piping systems.
  • Conduct pressure tests to ensure pipe systems are leak‑free.
  • Work with a variety of piping materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, and copper.
  • Maintain and repair piping systems and components.
  • Collaborate with welders, plumbers, and other tradespeople on job sites.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and protocols at all times.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide maintenance as needed.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Must be able to stand, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.
  • Tolerance to varying work conditions (indoor/outdoor, heat/cold, noisy environments).
  • Industrial plants, construction sites, refineries, shipyards, and manufacturing facilities.
  • May require travel depending on the project location.
  • Safety gear such as hard hats, gloves, and protective eyewear is mandatory.
