Job summary

MJ&H Fabrication seeks a skilled Pipe Welder to produce sound, code-compliant welds in a custom fabrication environment. The welder works from drawings, weld symbols, and WPS, coordinating with pipe fitters to verify joint prep before welding.

Relocation assistance is available up to $4,500. Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, ensuring proper joint preparation, and producing quality root, fill, and cap passes while minimizing distortion.

Qualifications

• Pass applicable MJ&H Fabrication weld test(s) for the work being performed.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and WPS requirements.
• Strong welding technique and hand-eye coordination.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipe welding in required positions and per WPS.
• Review drawings, weld symbols, and joint details before starting work.
• Verify joint preparation, bevel condition, root opening, alignment, and fit-up before welding.
• Produce root, fill, and cap passes with proper profile, penetration, and fusion.
• Control heat input and welding sequence to minimize distortion.
• Identify defects and address them before moving to the next operation.
• Use welding machines, grinders, torches, and related equipment safely.
• Perform weld cleanup and preparation between passes as required.
• Coordinate with fitters, supervision, and Quality if unclear.
• Maintain productive work habits while protecting weld quality.
