Job summary

MJ&H Fabrication is seeking a Pipe Welder to produce sound, code-compliant welds on fabricated pipe assemblies in a custom shop in Ponca City, OK. You will read drawings and weld symbols, follow WPS, and work with pipe fitters to ensure proper joint prep and fit-up before welding.

Relocation assistance is available up to $4,500. The role requires solid welding skills, adherence to procedures, and a proactive approach to quality and safety on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Experience in welding and fabrication environments.
• Ability to pass MJ&H Fabrication weld tests.
• Knowledge of pipe joint preparation and welding positions.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and WPS requirements.
• Experience with welding processes used for fabricated pipe work.
• Ability to use measuring tools and verify dimensions.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipe welding according to processes and WPS requirements.
• Review drawings, weld symbols, and job specifications before starting.
• Verify joint preparation, bevel condition, root opening, alignment, and fit-up before welding.
• Produce root, fill, and cap passes with proper profile and penetration.
• Control heat input and welding sequence to minimize distortion.
• Identify weld defects or workmanship concerns and address them.
• Use welding machines, grinders, torches, and related tools safely.
• Perform weld cleanup and preparation between passes as required.
• Coordinate with fitters, supervision, and Quality if unclear.
• Maintain productive work habits while meeting weld quality requirements.
