Southern Air, Inc. is seeking an experienced Pipe Welder to join our team in Richmond, VA. You will perform installation and repair work in commercial and industrial settings, upholding high safety and craftsmanship standards.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of piping and welding experience, strong pipe-fitting knowledge, and the ability to read technical drawings. Valid hand tools and a safety-focused mindset are essential for success in this hands-on role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of piping and welding experience.
• Strong knowledge of pipe fitting techniques and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable, detail-oriented and safety-focused.
• Must have the necessary hand tools for the trade.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including drug screen and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair piping systems in commercial and public buildings.
• Perform pipe fitting and prepare large bore weld pipe.
• Weld and work with carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, PVC and tubing.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and P&ID schematics.
• Accurately perform fitting take-outs for threaded and welded systems.
• Ensure all work meets applicable codes, specifications and quality standards.
