CTR Group is seeking several 1st Class Pipe Welders for a shipyard in the Pascagoula, MS area. Immediate openings and urgently hiring. Pay Rate: $52 per Hour Plus $180 Per Diem for Non-Local Candidates.

Weekly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered. Welders will perform GTAW (TIG) and SMAW welding on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel. A shipyard environment may require day or night shifts, confined spaces, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 Yrs. of pipe welding experience.
• GTAW (TIG) welding experience required.
• SMAW (stick welding) experience required.
• Ability to pass military standard X-Ray welding test on stainless steel and copper nickel in the 6G position (restricted).
• Ability to pass a military specification welding assessment in 3G/2G/4G positions.
• Pipe welding test on 5'' schedule 80 carbon steel pipe (6G).
• GTAW (TIG) process used for root pass; 11018 electrodes for fill and cap.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipe welding procedures on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel pipes using GTAW/TIG and SMAW.
• Work in a shipyard environment with day/night shifts and potential heights/confined spaces.
• Adhere to safety procedures meeting or exceeding industry standards.

SUMMARY

The Pipe Welder is responsible for performing pipe welding procedures on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel pipe using Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), also known as tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding. Types of metal materials with a variety of welding processes; the most basic of which are, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) also known as "stick welding" and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW) also known as “wire welding.” The shipyard environment is an around the clock manufacturing setting. The shipyard production areas at times involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts 24 hours a day. As with most every position in the shipyard, a Welder may be required to work either day or night dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time. The Company stresses the practice of working safely in all situations with safety procedures meeting, and most times, exceeding industry standards.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 4 Yrs. of pipe welding experience
• Must have experience in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), also known as Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding
• Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) also known as "stick welding"
• Ability to pass military standard X-Ray welding test on stainless steel and copper nickel in the 6G position (restricted)
• Ability to pass a military specification welding assessment in the vertical (3G), horizontal (2G) and overhead (4G) positions
• Pipe welding test is given in a restricted position (6 G) on a 5'' schedule 80 carbon steel pipe
• GTAW (TIG) process used for root pass, 11018 electrode used for weld fill portion and cap
• Must be able to test onsite an able to pass BG & HFT
• Must pass military standard X-Ray welding test on stainless steel and copper nickel in the 6G position (restricted). The pipe welding test is given in a restricted position (6 G) on a 5'' schedule 80 carbon steel pipe GTAW (TIG) process used for root pass, 11018 electrodes used for weld fill portion and cap.
