Job summary

United Group Services is seeking a Pipe Welder for industrial construction projects. The role involves welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and specialty piping systems to meet quality, safety, and code requirements on active job sites.

Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints and welding symbols, setting up and operating welding equipment, and ensuring weld integrity while following safety policies. Willingness to travel and work overtime is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a pipe welder in industrial or mechanical construction environments.
  • Ability to pass a weld test (site-specific).
  • Strong knowledge of welding procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to read blueprints and isometrics.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to work overtime, nights, and travel as project needs require.

  • Conduct visual inspections to ensure weld quality and integrity.
  • Follow all site-specific safety rules and company safety policies.
  • Work closely with foremen, supervisors, and other craft personnel to meet production goals.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Complete work efficiently while meeting quality expectations.

Salary Interval: Hourly
Pay Range: $30.00 - $38.00


Position Description

The Pipe Welder is responsible for welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and specialty alloy piping systems in industrial environments. This role supports critical infrastructure projects by ensuring all welds meet quality, safety, and code requirements while maintaining productivity and professionalism on active job sites.


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform SMAW, GTAW (TIG), and FCAW welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping

  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding symbols

  • Fit and weld pipe in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes (ASME, AWS, etc.)

  • Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and tools

  • Conduct visual inspections to ensure weld quality and integrity

  • Follow all site-specific safety rules and company safety policies

Preferred Experience


  • Experience in industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, power plants, refineries, or large commercial projects

  • Experience working with stainless steel and high-pressure systems

  • NCCER certification (preferred but not required)
