- Read print layout and build vessels
General Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Above average communication and organizational skills
- Team player with high level of dedication
- Experience as a pipe welder
- Knowledge of AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME codes and standards
Physical Requirements:
- Stand/walk up to 90% of workday
- Occasional bending, squatting, ascending ladders/stairways
- Occasional lifting up to 40 pounds
- Ability to assess weights, judge distance and heights
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Pipe and vessel fabrication
- Operate welding equipment and tools efficiently and accurately
- Read prints and drawings accurately, follow work instructions
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and isometrics
- Create new piping systems and repair existing ones
- Perform various weld types independently
- Assemble, install, and repair pipe components and systems
- Prepare materials by clamping or cutting
- Inspect work for defects and measure to ensure conformance
- Dismantle assemblies or cut scrap metal using thermal-cutting equipment
- Connect hoses and operate valves for torch work
- Climb ladders or scaffolds as needed
- Report discrepancies and safety issues
- Complete tasks assigned by supervisor or foreman accurately and promptly
- Inspect and repair defects before Quality Control inspection
