Job summary

Staffmark is seeking a Pipe Welder in Houston, TX. You will prepare materials, set up welding equipment, perform welding operations, inspect welds, read blueprints, verify measurements, and help fabricate metal components according to engineering specifications.

The role requires welding ability, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safe work practices; a positive attitude toward craftsmanship and hands-on manufacturing is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (GED) preferred; welding certification is a plus.
• Vocational welding training or technical education is beneficial.
• Previous welding experience is required.
• Experience with pipe welding is preferred.
• Ability to pass welding tests and work safely in industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding, tacking, and fabrication work per specifications.
• Operate grinders and welding equipment safely and effectively.
• Inspect welds for quality and accuracy.
• Follow shop safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Read blueprints and verify measurements as required.
• Assist fabrication of metal components according to engineering specs.

Now hiring for a Pipe Welder

Location: Houston, TX

Pay Rate: $16.00 – $32.00 per hour (Based on Welding Level)

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday: 5:30 PM – 6:00 AM
• Saturday: 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM
• Sunday: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Vocational training, welding certification, or technical education is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

• Previous welding experience required
• Experience with pipe welding preferred
• Ability to pass applicable welding tests
• Experience working safely in an industrial or fabrication environment

Job Duties

• Perform welding, tacking, and fabrication work according to specifications
• Operate grinders and welding equipment safely and effectively
• Inspect welds for quality and accuracy
• Follow all shop safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Use hand tools and welding accessories as needed

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in welding positions throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift metal components, materials, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely wear welding helmets, gloves, and required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to safely work around welding equipment, sparks, heat, and fabrication machinery while following established safety procedures.

You will maintain welding equipment, follow quality standards, and support safe, efficient manufacturing operations while producing consistent, high-quality work.
