Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Construction and field supervisor as applicable, this role will install industrial refrigeration systems at various locations around the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive and professional appearance.
- Serve the customer’s needs through prompt, thorough, and professional service.
- Understand all weld procedures used by RD&S and perform visual quality checks throughout the installation of the system.
- Complete daily/weekly work logs.
- Travel as required and stay out of town on a job up to 10 days, occasionally longer.
- Weld Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel refrigeration pipe per RD&S WPS B31.5 standards and Structural D1.1. Cost for WTTI to issue weld certification will be paid for by RD&S. Time to complete certifications will be on employee. This must be completed prior to or within 90 days of employment.
- Read and understand drawings associated with the installation of an industrial refrigeration system and efficiently install sections of system as directed.
- Attend all company-sponsored events.
- Attend all required company meetings, construction meetings, and monthly safety meetings.
- Supply personal hand tools and welding shield as required for this position.
- Complete the OSHA 10 online course prior to start date. This online training course will be paid for by RD&S.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding, including designs, uses, maintenance, and repair.
- Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprints.
- Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in various forms.
- Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card to work at facilities operated under the Department of Homeland Security.
- Must be able to get a clean DOT physical. Welding trucks fall under DOT regulations.
Education, Certifications, and Experience:
- OSHA-10 required.
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship or successful completion of an in-company training program.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead.
- Must have manual dexterity and stability required for precision work.
- Must be able to see details at close range.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
