Job summary

Aerotek in Catoosa, OK is seeking a Pipe Welder to join a busy fabrication shop on a first shift. You will set up and operate MIG, flux core, TIG and pipe welding equipment, read blueprints, and produce welds to exacting specifications on vessels and heat exchangers.

Responsibilities include planning procedures, inspecting finished work for quality, adhering to safety protocols, and troubleshooting welding machines, with overtime potential in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years MIG and flux core welding experience on vessels or heat exchangers.
• Proficiency in MIG welding, flux core welding, TIG welding, and pipe welding.
• Ability to pass an Open Root 3G MIG/Flux Core Fill & Cap weld test.
• Ability to pass a 6G TIG Root/Flux Fill & Cap weld test on 2" Schedule 160 pipe.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Basic safety training and consistent adherence to safety procedures.
• Intermediate math skills for layout, measurement, and fit-up.
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
• Fitting and fabrication related to pipe welding projects.
• Ability to troubleshoot and adjust welding machines as needed.

• Successfully complete and maintain proficiency in required weld tests, including Open Root 3G MIG/Flux Core Fill & Cap and 6G TIG Root/Flux Fill & Cap on 2" Schedule 160 pipe.

Job Title: Pipe Welder

This role focuses on performing high-quality pipe welding using advanced welding equipment in a busy fabrication environment. Essential Skills

Work Environment

The role is based in a non-climate-controlled weld shop with a high-production atmosphere. The position operates on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with regular Saturday work, totaling approximately 60–70 hours per week. You work with advanced welding equipment, including MIG, flux core, and TIG processes on pipe and fabricated components, in a setting that requires appropriate protective workwear suitable for a fabrication shop.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Catoosa, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
