Job summary

Dynamic Systems (DSI), LLC in Dallas, TX, is seeking a Pipe Stress, Hydraulic & CFD Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize industrial piping and HVAC systems for data centers, cleanrooms and manufacturing facilities.

You will perform pipe stress with CAESAR II, hydraulic modeling with PIPE-FLO, and CFD with ANSYS Fluent, collaborate with mechanical and controls engineers, and deliver calculations, reports and visualizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Experience in pipe stress analysis, hydraulic modeling, or CFD (ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+ etc.).
• Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and piping/HVAC system behavior.
• Ability to communicate complex analytical findings to non-specialist engineers and project managers.
• Experience level: 2+ years (early-career) or 10+ years (senior).
• Preferred: PE license; scripting/automation experience (Python, MATLAB).
• Experience in data centers, cleanrooms, pharma, or mission-critical facilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical and controls).
• Prepare calculations, reports, specifications, and visuals summarizing modeling results.
• Stay current on modeling software and industry standards for piping, hydraulic, and airflow/thermal analysis.
• Perform pipe stress analysis and flexibility evaluations with CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, ROHR2.
• Perform hydraulic modeling with PIPE-FLO and analyze pressure drop and pump sizing.
• Build/validate CFD models for airflow and thermal performance of HVAC/building spaces.
• Translate CFD results into design recommendations for the engineering team.
• Support commissioning by comparing as-built performance to modeled predictions.
