Job summary

Sanderson Pipe in Clarksville, TN seeks a Quality Control Lead Tester/Inspector (Non-Exempt) to support the Quality Control Supervisor. You will assist with records for third party agencies, train QC personnel, and ensure pipe is measured for wall, OD, roundness and length.

You will use OD tape, micrometer and calipers, complete paperwork, monitor scrap, report discrepancies, test pipe per standards, and keep the lab area clean. Must lift up to 50 pounds; other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent.
Score 70% or higher on the Quality Control Lead Tester/Inspector exam.

Responsibilities

Assist the Quality Control Manager with maintaining records for third party agencies.
Train other Quality Control personnel.
Know and research standards for pipe and testing.
Use the O.D. tape, micrometer and calipers.
Complete paperwork: line reports, scrap report, problem sheets and production report.
Check yard count before releasing to inventory and distribute paperwork.
Check pipe standards: wall, O.D., roundness, length and print readings, bell, and visual inspection.
Verify lift qualities, wood setups and banding.
Monitor scrap and report issues to the Production Supervisor.
Report discrepancies to appropriate staff.
Cut and test pipe per standards.
Troubleshoot lab equipment as needed.
Keep the work area clean and organized.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
