Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a construction estimator to prepare complete estimates for assigned projects, determine plans and specifications, and plan work with proper tools.

The role requires reading drawings, analyzing data, and complying with safety and project rules. You will coordinate with supervisors to deliver accurate takeoffs and cost estimates for bids.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with related work experience.
• Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and incorporates historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports into unit and man-hour figures.
• Estimates worker-hours and materials required to complete the job.
• Reviews specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimates.
• Maintains files of working documents and backup for estimate figures.
• Reads and interprets instructions and plans work activities.
• Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work sites.
• Follows all hazardous waste handling guidelines.
• Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs cleanup activities.
• Observes and complies with all safety and project rules.

Performs other duties as required.
