Job summary

Tucker Paving, Inc. is seeking a Pipefitter/Installer to assemble, connect, and install pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers and water mains. You will prep ground, dig trenches, align pipes, and seal joints with cement or gasket materials.

Responsibilities include laying out routes from blueprints, coordinating with supervisors, and operating heavy equipment. OSHA 30 is preferred but not required; a valid driver's license is required. This is a full-time position based in Florida.

Qualifications

  • Reads and interprets blueprints or plans.
  • Maintains safety standards on construction sites.
  • Communicates clearly with team and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment such as rollers, loaders, excavators, and compactors.
  • Read levels, check slopes, and verify conformance to specs.
  • Train others in laying pipe.

  • Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement, using magnetic or radio indicators.
  • Train others in laying pipe.

Education And/or Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum 1-year related experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Exhibit a high level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of equipment safety.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints/plans and construct accordingly.
  • Valid Driver license.
  • OSHA 30 preferred (but not required).
  • Ability to set up & use effectively, site level, grade laser, pipe laser and straight-line level.
Communication Skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction and communicate effectively.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals to compute rate, ration, percent.
Reasoning Ability
  • Requires independent judgement and conscious thinking.
