Job summary

U.S. Pavement Services is seeking a Pipe Layer to install underground piping systems, ensuring proper alignment, grade, and sealing per design specs and safety standards.

This role requires reading blueprints, trenching, and installing PVC, ductile iron, concrete, and steel pipes across water mains, sewers, and storm drains. The ideal candidate will have experience in pipe laying, ability to read construction drawings, and a solid understanding of on-site safety practices.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Pipe Layer or similar construction role.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and perform layout tasks.
  • Familiarity with different pipe materials and installation methods.
  • Strong understanding of job site safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.
  • Excavate and grade trenches using hand tools or equipment.
  • Align and position pipes to ensure proper slope and seal.
  • Install various types of pipe (e.g., PVC, ductile iron, concrete, steel) for storm drains, water mains, and sewer systems.
  • Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using cement, glue, or welding equipment.
  • Lay pipe to required depth and alignment based on plans.
  • Backfill trenches and compact earth using manual or mechanical methods.
  • Operate or assist with heavy equipment as needed (e.g., excavators, trenchers).
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure conformance to specifications.

We are growing and looking for Piper Layers to join our construction team. Pipe Layers are responsible for installing underground piping systems including water, sewer, storm drains, and gas lines, ensuring proper alignment, grade, and sealing in compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
