Job summary

Suncore is seeking a Pipe Layer in the Salt Lake area to build and install underground utility lines with a focus on quality and teamwork. You’ll work hands-on in the field on water, sewer, storm drain, and other civil projects.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of pipelaying experience, can read blueprints, and are capable of working outdoors in varied conditions. We value safety, reliability, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of pipelaying with underground utilities or similar civil construction.
• Knowledge of water, sewer, storm drain, and dry utilities.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and blueprints.
• Ability to work outdoors in heat and other challenging conditions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. without assistance.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Align and position pipes for sealing.
• Check slopes and grades with lasers and levels.
• Connect pipe sections and seal joints.
• Cover and backfill installed pipe.
• Cut pipe to required lengths and fit.
• Dig trenches to required depths.
• Read blueprints for above- and below-ground utilities.
• Grade trench bases with tamping tools.
• Follow project specs and maintain safety and quality.
• Coordinate with crew, operators, and supervisors.
