Job summary

J.C. Wilkie Construction, LLC in Lexington, SC is seeking a skilled Pipe Layer to install storm drainage, sanitary sewer and water distribution piping. Under the Pipe Foreman, you will set and align pipe, read plans, and help ensure safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3 years of underground utility construction experience.
• Experience installing storm drain, sanitary sewer, and water distribution systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, grade stakes, cut sheets, and utility drawings.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Install storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and water piping per plans.
• Set and align pipe to line and grade using layout tools.
• Assist with trench prep and bedding.
• Install pipe fittings, valves, hydrants, manholes, and related structures.
• Direct equipment operators during excavation and placement.
• Maintain trench safety and proper shoring.
• Read utility plans and grade stakes.
