Job summary

Royal American Construction is seeking a field crew member to install underground piping that connects buildings and sites to water and sewer systems. You will read site plans, lay pipe, and perform backfill and trenching to specification while maintaining safety and quality.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and operating power tools. Typical work includes cutting, fitting, and laying pipes, assisting laborers, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year pipelaying experience preferred.
• Ability to read site plans and interpret grades.

Responsibilities

• Install underground piping to connect buildings and sites to water, sewer, and storm systems.
• Lifting and pulling up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Digging, shoveling, and trenching as required.
• Assist Laborers when not laying pipe, including sweeping and other tasks.
• Operate power tools and equipment; climb ladders up to 25 feet.
• Work on elevated platforms and read site plans daily.

Summary:This position is responsible for installing underground piping to connect buildings and building sites to water supplies, sewers, and stormwater management systems. Must have knowledge of excavation, alignment of pipe, establishing and maintaining proper grade, proper joining of pipes and proper backfill procedures. Typical schedules are Monday Friday, with weekends required as needed.Incumbent is expected to have excellent attendance and communication skills, possess the ability to build lasting business relationships, and exhibit professionalism.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:This is a description of the major responsibilities of this position.
