Overview

Since its founding in 1992, Edgewood Properties has established itself as a leading real estate development and property management company. Our current apartment portfolio of over 6,000 units is expected to double in the next few years, reaching over 12,000 units within five years. Due to ongoing construction and development, we are seeking qualified candidates to join our team.

Position

We are currently seeking a Pipe Laborer for our Excavation Department, based out of South Plainfield, NJ.

Responsibilities

1. Unload tools and equipment, prepare building site materials, and set up equipment.
2. Perform physical labor at various construction sites.
3. Follow instructions from the Foreman or Supervisor.
4. Consult construction plans, take measurements, and perform calculations.
5. Direct traffic safely around construction sites.
6. Use construction tools and equipment to complete tasks.
7. Adhere to health and safety regulations, including wearing proper gear.
8. Complete tasks efficiently and safely operate hand and power tools.
9. Operate heavy equipment as instructed.
10. Prepare sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting.
11. Assist subcontractors as needed.
12. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the worksite.
13. Assist with snow removal and salting operations.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or trade training a plus.
2. State licensure for hazardous materials preferred.
3. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work at heights or in trenches.
4. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently or in a team.
5. Excellent communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
6. Reliable transportation and ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
