Job summary

You will read blueprints, plan layouts, manage crews, verify QA/QC, and represent the company on bid walks. Ten years of pipefitting experience and five years in supervision are required, plus NCCER certification or Craft Skills Test results.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of pipefitting experience in industrial construction, maintenance or new construction.
• 5+ years in a supervisory role overseeing crews.
• Strong understanding of craft environments and basic hand tools.
• Must pass Craft Skills Test at 70% or hold NCCER certification.
• Familiarity with Matrix Service policies and safety trainings.
• Subject to drug testing, background check, and MVR.
• Valid driver's license with MVR check; TWIC card required.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Pipe General Foreman will receive direction from Superintendent and Site Manager regarding upcoming daily tasks and project progress. This role is responsible for overseeing pipe foreman while also manage pipe foreman's and crews as the assembly, layout, installation, and maintenance of piping systems for industrial and new construction projects.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Manage crew processes, scheduling, costs, employee relations issues, and employment needs.
• Identify all tools required for tasks.
• Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
• Illustrate in-depth knowledge of all pipe fitting processes.
• Tactically plan operations for scheduling workloads in crews efficiently utilizing assets and resources to minimize cost.
• Ensure all QA/QC requirements are met on assigned projects.
• Attend and represent the company on bid walks and potential projects.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Must have 10+ years’ experience with pipefitting processes for industrial construction, maintenance or new construction.
• 5+ years’ experience in a supervisory role.
• Good understanding of the craft environment being supervised and knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Must be able to pass the Craft Skills Test at or above 70% or have the NCCER certification for your craft.
• Must have a good understanding of Matrix Service policies and procedures.
• Must be able to complete Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training.
• Obtain and maintain active status within the required drug testing program.
• Subject to random drug screenings.
• Must pass a Background.
• Must maintain a current, valid driver's license and pass an MVR as a condition of employment.
• TWIC card required

PHYSICAL/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
• Will talk and hear to communicate.
• Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools.
• May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
• Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE
