Job summary

Matrix Project Services is seeking a Pipe Foreman to lead a pipe crew on industrial new construction, maintenance and turnaround projects in the region. You will read blueprints, supervise crews, coordinate tool needs and ensure safety and QA/QC on site.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of pipefitting experience, 1+ year in supervision, NCCER certification or Craft Skills Test. You will work with a dedicated team and uphold Matrix Service policies while maintaining project schedules.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ pipefitting experience in industrial CN, maintenance, or turnaround projects.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Ability to pass the Craft Skills Test at 70% or hold NCCER certification.
• Familiarity with Matrix Service policies and procedures.
• Complete Matrix Safety and Process Safety Management trainings.
• Able to pass drug testing and background checks.

• Manage crew processes, scheduling, costs, employee relations issues, and employment needs.
• Identify all tools required for tasks.
• Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
• Illustrate in-depth knowledge of all pipe fitting processes.
• Tactically plan operations for scheduling workloads in crews efficiently utilizing assets and resources to minimize cost.
• Ensure all QA/QC requirements are met on assigned projects.
• Attend and represent the company on bid walks and potential projects.

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

• Must have 5+ years’ experience with pipefitting processes for Industrial New Construction, Maintenance and Turnarounds.
• Must have 1+ years’ experience in a supervisory role. Good understanding of the craft environment being supervised and knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Must be able to pass the Craft Skills Test at or above 70% or have the NCCER certification for your craft.
• Must be able to read, understand and follow Matrix Service policies and procedures.
• Must be able to complete the Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain active status within the required drug testing program.
• Must pass a Background.

Physical/Special Requirements

• Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
• Will talk and hear to communicate.
• Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools.
• May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
• Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
