Job summary

Midwest Mechanical Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled pipe fitter/welder to join its field crew in Cincinnati, Ohio. The ideal candidate will fit and weld piping systems, read drawings, and work safely on commercial and industrial construction sites.

You will be responsible for fabricating, laying out, positioning, and assembling piping components, installing hangers and valves, and performing leak tests. Must pass weld tests and be familiar with applicable codes; team oriented and reliable.

Qualifications

• Experience in pipe fitting and pipe welding.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications.
• Must be able to pass a weld test.
• Familiar with applicable codes on industrial projects.
• Experience on commercial and industrial construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Fit and weld out piping systems.
• Read drawings and specifications to determine scope, locations, quantities, and materials.
• Prepare, cut, fabricate, layout, fit, position, and assemble piping components.
• Install hangers, supports, valves and components.
• Perform leak tests to ensure piping integrity.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Operate from ladders and man lifts up to 15 feet.
• Communicate with supervisor, office personnel, GC, owner, and others as needed.

Duties

• Fit and weld out piping systems


• Read drawings and specifications to determine the scope of work including locations, quantities, and materials


• Prepare, cut, fabricate, layout, fit, position, and assemble piping components together in various positions


• Install hangers, supports, valves and components


• Perform leak tests to ensure the quality of the pipe and the piping systems.


• Maintain safe and clean work environment.


• Able to work from ladders and man lifts at various heights up to 15 feet.


• Continuous communication with supervisor, office personnel, GC, owner, and others as needed


• Experience on commercial and industrial construction projects


• Ability to pass weld test
