Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a Pipe Fitter Helper to assist with laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment across industrial facilities.

You will follow blueprints and work under supervision to ensure systems meet specs and safety standards. Responsibilities include selecting pipes and fittings, cutting and threading pipe, bending and securing supports, and installing pumps, meters, and controls.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must pass written Pipe Fitter Helper test
• Able to read, write and understand directions from supervisor
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied environments
• Willing to work outside of craft

Responsibilities

• Select type and size of pipe and related materials per specs
• Plan installation or repair to avoid obstructions
• Cut and thread pipe using appropriate tools
• Bend and assemble pipes with various joints and fasteners
• Secure pipes to structures and install hydraulic/pneumatic components
• Operate machinery to verify repairs and test systems
• Follow safety and project rules and observe PPE requirements
• May observe production machines and perform maintenance as needed
