Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. seeks a skilled Pipe Fitter to lay out, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems for industrial production and processing. You will follow blueprints, ensure safety, and deliver high-quality work with a focus on efficiency.

Responsibilities include selecting materials, cutting/bending pipes, threading, securing components, and testing systems. Candidates must pass a pipe fitter test and lift up to 50 pounds in varied environments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass written Pipe Fitter test.
• Able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor and co-workers.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Select type and size of pipe and related materials per specifications.
• Plan installations to avoid obstructions and interference.
• Cut pipe with saws, cutters, and torches; thread and bend as required.
• Assemble and install metal/nonmetal pipes with joints using appropriate methods.
• Secure pipes to structures with brackets, clamps, and hangers.
• Install and maintain hydraulic/pneumatic components and equipment.
• Test systems by increasing pressure and observing gauges.
• May weld pipe supports and observe machinery for malfunctions.
• Operate machinery to verify repairs and comply with safety rules.
