Job summary

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a skilled pipe fitter for our Richmond, VA area projects. You will install and assemble piping systems for commercial facilities, interpret drawings, and coordinate with mechanical trades across multiple job sites.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience as a pipe fitter or equivalent.
• Ability to multi-task, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
• Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
• Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned

Responsibilities

• Interpret sketches, blue prints and isometric drawings
• Cleans, bevels, prepares and installs pipe with various fittings and weld joints
• Performs layout, rigging and transportation of pipe, valves and fittings
• Installs pipe and related materials and equipment
• Inspects worksite to determine presence of obstructions
• Plans sequence on installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers
• Cuts pipe using, pipe cutter, cutting torch and pipe cutting machine
• Threads pipe using threading machine
• Secures pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools
• Tests piping systems
• Loads, transports and unloads material, tools, equipment and supplies
• Assists in lifting, positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installation
• Maintains tools and equipment
• Relies on pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
• Performs other duties as assigned
