Job summary

Rhoads Industries, Inc. is seeking a Pipe Fitter to join our Navy Yard Philadelphia team on 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 4pm-2:30am EST).

You will read and interpret PI&Ds and drawings, lay out piping, and fit spools for welders to install complex piping systems for machinery and equipment. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in pipe fitting, strong math skills, and the ability to work with measurements and tools, including hand and power tools, overhead cranes, and levels.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in pipe fitting
• Strong math skills for pipe layout
• Ability to fit and connect piping by welding, sweating, swaging, gluing, bolting, threading, clamping
• Experience with measurement and fitting tools (tape, levels, laser levels, etc.)
• General mechanical knowledge to fabricate and install piping per work instruction

Responsibilities

• Read and decipher scope, drawings, and PI&Ds to plan layouts
• Interpret BOMs to ensure correct material
• Layout piping runs to targets and ensure proper fit
• Prepare and fit pipe spools for welders per specs
• Assemble piping in systems and secure to foundations/equipment
• Collaborate with welders and supervision and maintain safety
