Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Pipe/Coating Bench Inspector for Houston, TX to perform inspection activities in pipe mills, coating mills, and loading/unloading locations, ensuring adherence to client and industry standards. The role requires five years of related QA experience and fluency in English.

The assignment runs for two weeks starting in September, with a Baytown, TX project planned in October. Proficiency in MS Office and strong teamwork are essential for success on-site.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years’ experience with pipe related quality assurance systems.
• Familiar with national codes and standards and interpretations of specifications, drawings and data sheets as they are related to multi-discipline construction and/or pipe projects.
• High school/GED or higher education.
• Fluent in English (i.e. reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with email and internet communication systems.
• Ability to work well with others and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection activities, using tools necessary for accurate measurement and determination of compliance to specifications.
• Provide daily inspection results to the Lead Inspector or Project Coordinator, preparing and issuing inspection reports, when required.
• Witness testing and monitor project activities, as required.
• Witness/verify pipe loadout onto trucks, railcars, barges or ocean vessels in accordance with specifications and industry standards.
