Job Opportunity: Pilot in Command at UPMC Center for Emergency Medicine

This position offers a generous sign-on bonus of $30,000, available with a 3-year commitment.

Position Details:

  • Location: Wintersville, OH
  • Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off
Purpose:

The Pilot in Command is a key member of the critical care transport team, responsible for the safe operation of aircraft during all flights. This role involves ensuring aircraft airworthiness, maintaining FAA qualifications, and adhering to safety and operational policies in a dynamic environment. The Pilot in Command also supports team safety, training, and operational goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Report for duty rested and fit, complying with drug and alcohol policies.
  • Coordinate with flight followers regarding currency, duty time, and weather conditions.
  • Respond promptly to service requests, prioritizing safety.
  • Participate in safety culture development and report safety concerns.
  • Complete documentation accurately and timely, including flight records and incident reports.
  • Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures, and support operational goals.
  • Manage scheduling and coverage responsibilities.
  • Use appropriate protective equipment and maintain fitness for duty.
  • Conduct all flights safely, adhering to all policies and regulations.
  • Maintain proficiency with aircraft systems and complete recurrent training.
  • Conduct shift change briefs and ensure crew training and currency.
  • Ensure aircraft airworthiness through proper documentation and inspections.
  • Mentor new pilots and support the IOE process.
  • Protect patient privacy in accordance with policies and laws.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude with customers.
