Job Opportunity: Pilot at UPMC Center for Emergency Medicine

Sign-On Bonus Details:

·$30,000 sign-on bonus available with a 3-year commitment

The UPMC Center for Emergency Medicine is seeking a Full-Time Pilot to support MedEvac 15, based in Wintersville, OH.

Schedule:

7 days on and 7 days off

Purpose:

The Pilot in Command is a key member of the critical care transport team, responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft during all flights within the STAT MedEvac system. Responsibilities include ensuring aircraft airworthiness, maintaining FAA qualifications, and conducting flights in compliance with policies and regulations. The Pilot in Command exercises independent judgment to ensure safe and efficient transportation of patients, working as part of a team and fulfilling safety and training requirements as directed by leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Report for duty well rested, fit for duty, and adhere to drug and alcohol policies, including FAA requirements.
  • Arrive on time to accept flights, obtain release numbers, and prepare for scheduled shifts.
  • Coordinate with flight followers regarding currency, duty time, aircraft status, and weather; ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Respond promptly to service requests, prioritizing safety.
  • Support system-wide coverage and flexibility in scheduling.
  • Participate in cultivating a safety culture, report safety concerns, and promote a safe work environment.
  • Complete documentation accurately and timely, including postflight reports and incident reports.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of policies and procedures and assist in achieving operational goals.
  • Notify in advance for PTO and trade days, ensuring shift coverage.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Perform all duties, including routine inspections, maintenance logs, and operational checks.
  • Maintain fitness for duty, report injuries, and adhere to medical requirements.
  • Conduct flights safely, adhering to all policies, procedures, and regulations, and exercising emergency authority when necessary.
  • Maintain proficiency with all aircraft systems, complete checkrides, recurrent training, and practice approaches regularly.
  • Conduct shift change briefs, assign inflight duties, and ensure crew readiness and training compliance.
  • Ensure aircraft readiness, including maintenance logs, cleanliness, and operational supplies.
  • Serve as a mentor for new pilots and support the IOE process.
  • Protect patient privacy according to policies and legal requirements.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude, fostering good customer relationships and representing the organization positively.
