• Maintain a personal logbook and recency of experience; FAR Part 135 qual.
• Inform leadership of aircraft status and ensure airworthiness.
• Represent Air Med Services / Executive Aircraft Charter professionally.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisors.
• Report all aircraft mechanical malfunctions to maintenance.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Director of Operations, Chief Pilot, and Pilot in Command, operates Air Med's airplanes under the appropriate FAA regulations, Air Med's Operations Manual and Policy Manual to ensure safe, legal, and efficient flights for Air Med / Executive Air Charter customers. The SIC is directly responsible for, the secondary authority as to the operation of the aircraft as dictated by the PIC.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate his/her aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, complying with all appropriate regulations, guidelines, and instructions of the Pilot in Command
• Ensure that the paperwork is finished in a neat, legible and accurate manner
• Work with the customer to provide safe, legal, efficient, courteous, and reliable service. Ensure that the customer has had a safety briefing, is qualified to refuel when and if necessary, understands baggage loading and unloading procedures, and understand that safety in and around the Aircraft is of the utmost importance
• Ensure that his/her airman certificate and medical certificate are current and ensure that Lafayette Operations has current copies of each
• Maintain a personal logbook or recency of experience log to show the recent flight experience. Must ensure that his/her FAR Part 135 qualifications are current
• Keep the Director of Operations, Director of Maintenance and Chief Pilot informed of the operational status of his/her aircraft and make sure the aircraft is airworthy before, during and after flights
• Represent Air Med Services / Executive Aircraft Charter in a professional manner which includes, but no limited to: being neat, clean in appearance, and courteous to all internal and external customers
• Comply with other duties and assignments that may be assigned by supervisors
• Report all aircraft mechanical malfunctions by entering them in the aircraft maintenance log book and communicating the information to the Director of Maintenance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Must possess an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with instrument and multiengine qualifications, and meet Air Med's / EACS insurance requirements.
• Strong customer service aptitude
• Current Class II FAA Medical Certificate
