Job summary

IFDC is seeking a Technician-Pilot Plant in Muscle Shoals, AL, to provide technical and mechanical support for process development in the Pilot Plant facilities. The role requires hands-on setup and operation of plant equipment, data recording during pilot runs, and collaboration with engineers and the Analytical Lab.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/equivalent with relevant work experience; associate degree or technical training preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant work experience; compensation may be adjusted by experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and production processes; nitrogen and phosphate-based fertilizer processes preferred.
• Experience with hazardous/corrosive materials in the fertilizer industry (e.g., anhydrous ammonia, acids, bases).
• Willingness to wear PPE and comply with safety standards; ability to train with Senior Technician to expand responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Take detailed guidance from supervisor regarding daily tasks.
• Setup plant equipment (solids feeders, conveyors, pumps), operate safely, record data during pilot runs.
• Monitor processes and adjust equipment as needed.
• Clean and dismantle processes after pilot runs.
• Demonstrate core fertilizer technology competencies and assist training of Associate Technicians.
